[Camo T-Shirt Dress: Forever 21 (but it’s selling quickly!)]
There are certain prints and patterns that I will always have in my closet: stripes (in every size and color), leopard print, and floral print. But I definitely had a closed mind about venturing out past those “safety” patterns. At one point, I definitely remember telling my boyfriend to dump me if I ever started wearing camouflage in a non-joking way.
But today I am here to eat my words.
I may have dissed certain prints in the past, but I stand before you a ~changed woman~ ready to admit that some of these looks can be SO flippin cute and stylish. Let’s hop into it…
I’m starting out with this one because it’s the last print I thought I’d ever wear, haha. What was once strictly used for hunting purposes, has become a chic print found at almost every store I shop at. I tried to avoid it for a long time because I’m definitely more of a girly girl, and camouflage felt very “boy-ish,” but I finally gave it a chance when I saw so many of my favorite bloggers styling it on Instagram… I guess that’s the power of influencers, y’all! I am linking some of my favorite finds here:
[Polka dot dress: Blu Spero]
Ok guys, I am here for a classic white and black polka-dotted piece nowadays! I used to steer clear of polka dots because I thought they could look too busy, but now I find myself adding polka dotted pieces to my cart every time I shop online. I also know some people may find polka dots a bit childish, but the key is finding a smaller scale polka dot and sticking to a neutral color palette (think black & white, nude, pale pink, etc.). Here are some that have caught my eye:
[Romper is old from Bevello]
TROPICAL PRINT / PALM LEAVES
These kinds of patterns used to remind me of a tacky tourist costume, so I never thought it had a place in my “real” wardrobe. But over the past year or two, brands have been making the cutest clothing with tropical prints. (Show Me Your Mumu is one that comes to mind!) I have been fully converted into a fan of all things palm leaf/tropical flower/etc. Here are some pieces that I need in my closet like ASAP:
So there you have it… I’ve come around to these fun prints & I am embracing them with open arms! LOL. Is there any prints (or trends) you used to hate but love now? Let me know in the comments below!
